About Adam

Hello I’m Adam Nicholson and this is my site for sharing art. The work I do relies on community engagement, whether through in-person meetings or keeping up with city planning studies. Some of these efforts are through transitnownashville.org. I also teach tech and art based workshops through the Nashville Public Library.

I’m interested in urban design, political satire, info graphics and mapping to push for fast-tracking infrastructure that will transform automobile dominated landscapes into healthy environments built for people.

Nashville is several years into a transportation crisis, with the worst commutes in the country, the highest dependency on cars, and the most miles of roadway per person. We need a movement to make progress on a large scale, otherwise we will continue to see encroachments like Elon Musk’s Tesla Tunnels and TDOT’s privatized highway expansions with Choice Lanes. Nashville’s current lack of ambitious vision has created a vacuum that is quickly filling up with the pet projects of opportunistic billionaires and ‘Good Old Boy’ private interests.

Responding to these challenges, I’ve joined local communities to resist the privatization of our transportation system. More info on that effort is at noboringatbna.org. Another great community action that is improving public spaces is the Bench Builders. More info on the bench building effort can be found at tonashvillewithlove.com
